Our Concert

Saturday, June 15th, 2013, in St. John Chamber, Chatedral BMV Assumptae, Jakarta, a wonderful concert was held.

Ursula Canisius Voice Annual Concert 2013: Many Gifts, One Spirit!



After a long preparation from the beginning of this year by the committee with me as the chairman, we finally did this! A tribute to our schools, Canisius College Senior High School and Saint Ursula Senior High School. And so, for our parents that always support us in what we do to express our love in choir.

The concert started at 6.30 pm, opened by Father John Heru Hendarto, SJ, our principal and Mr. Agustinus Eko Andriyanto, our advisor.


The first song was Many Gifts, One Spirit, the theme song we chose, that was composed by Allen Pote. And then there were performances also from our alumna, Vides Vocem Choir, and few of our members.

I, with two of my friends, Maria Tiffany and Astrid Susanto, sang a song from J. S. Bach "Air on G String" that was free translated by Hal Hopson to be "Lord, Have Mercy". Really a great composition.

Every song went on really good, the best we made after a lot of practices. And the audiences were very pleased, they said to me. They said it was really cool and fascinating.

The concert ended at 9.30 pm, closed by Father Albert Buddy Haryadi, SJ, our prefect. The last song was Ampar Ampar Pisang, a Dayaknese folksong that brought us twice as a winner in national choir competitions, first in 2010 at Universitas Tarumanegara as 2nd winner, and in 2011 at Institut Pertanian Bogor as 3rd winner.

Special thanks for everyone involved to succeed this concert, for without whom we would not be able to do this. Especially for our director and conductor, Yudhi Ekaputra Kurniawan. Thanks a lot, everyone!

    saya mendengarkan seluruh lagu-lagu dalam concert ini dari SoundCloud.
    bagus dan keren paduan suaranya.
    ohya, saya tertarik dengan salah satu lagunya " Ambillah dan Trimalah", sangat syahdu sekali.
